Inscription
In loving memory of the Rev Wm. Smiley, LL.D. Methodist minister (son-in-law of Robert Beatty) who died at Ballynure on the 9th Jan 1886 aged 35 years. Ever loyal and devoted to his king, he has been thus early promoted to higher service. "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". Also his wife Mary Hay Hill Smiley, fourth daughter of Robert Beatty, who, loving and dearly loved, entered into life eternal on 15th February 1914 aged 62 years. Also of Rev Thomas Knox, son in law of Robert Beatty who after 50 years of devoted work in the Methodist ministry went home to God 10th Feby 1919 aged 82. And of his wife Sarah Jane Boyd Beatty, whose gentle spirit passed away 6th October 1921 aged 73. And Sarah Robina Beatty Smiley, MA daughter of Rev William Smiley LL.D. whose kind and loving spirit entered into rest 4th December 1930 aged 50 (See also Wallace)
